Diego Biseswar has been watching with great satisfaction as Feyenoord faced off against Go Ahead Eagles and SL Benfica. The former Feyenoord player initially had some reservations about coach Brian Priske’s tactical choices during the early stages of the season. However, Biseswar now sees that the Dane is starting to find his footing and is particularly impressed by In-beom Hwang and the promising Antoni Milambo.
“Milambo is quickly making a name for himself in the football world; he has already played several good matches,” Biseswar told RTV Rijnmond about the Rotterdam native, who has scored six times in official competitions this season. “I still remember the Johan Cruijff Shield match, where I thought he was performing at a high level.”
“Personally, I think he is very close to the Dutch national team. He could receive a call-up in a few weeks; it’s a shame he’s not in the preliminary selection. He’s a young player with a lot of potential, performing well at the Champions League level. We’re all watching. I wouldn’t have found it surprising if he had received a signal regarding the preliminary selection.”
Nasser El Khayati hopes Milambo will remain grounded despite the pressures of the football world. The former player emphasizes the importance of good guidance for the talented midfielder. “Stay with both feet on the ground! Stay calm; you haven’t achieved everything yet. Three goals in the Champions League are fantastic, but if you keep this up, everything will come naturally.”
Hwang’s Leadership
Biseswar has played against Hwang in the past and recognized his leadership qualities on the pitch. “He’s a top player who brings a lot of calm to Feyenoord’s game. I faced Hwang in Greece, and it was a bit like how he plays now at Feyenoord. He’s everywhere but always in the right place.”
“He’s a true connector: smart, two-footed, and always wanting the ball. I really enjoy watching him,” Biseswar continued. “He always looks to play forward. Many players in that position often pass back to the goalkeeper, but he has great awareness and plays the ball to the right teammate. That’s very positive and greatly helps the team.”
The Challenge Ahead
The big question is whether Feyenoord can maintain their good form. Upcoming matches are crucial for closing the gap on PSV. Is there still a chance to catch up with the Eindhoven side? Biseswar believes it’s not impossible. “I haven’t completely given up on Feyenoord. Of course, there’s a gap, but the top matches are coming up. Those are opportunities to earn valuable points.”
